Event Details

The 2026 South Windsor Charity Open will be held August 7th-9th, at the Wapping Tennis Courts in South Windsor, located right next to South Windsor High School. We ask that all participants donate a minimum of $16 for singles and $32 for doubles. However, all proceeds do go to charity, so we would graciously appreciate any additional donations, which can be sent through our GoFundMe, which can be found under the 'Contact' tab. We also ask that each participant bring their own unopened can of balls to use in the tournament. ​

Play will begin at 8 AM and end at 5 PM on all three days.

This year's charity

This year, we are donating all our proceeds to the Connecticut Humane Society, an animal shelter located in Newington, Connecticut, that provides care and support for thousands of animals every year!

2025 featured our biggest growth yet, as we raised over $1500 to the South Windsor Food Bank, a branch led by the Human Services. This would not have been possible without the support and love for tennis that you guys brought as players, so thank you! We hope to have an even more succesful 2026 season.

Abhiram Gunti

Abhiram Gunti is a member of the UConn Class of 2024 and a member of the Class of 2020 at SWHS. He's been playing tennis for as long as he can remember and played all four years of high school. He has a passion for the sport and is excited to use his skills in a way that benefits the larger community through creating this tournament. He currently lives in California as an employee for SpaceX
Jeeva Shunmugaraja

Jeeva Shunmugaraja is a member UConn Class of 2024, and member of the Class of 2020 at SWHS.  He has been playing tennis for nearly ten years and volunteered for the town for years as well. He has a passion for public service and leadership and looks forward to putting on an enjoyable and successful event.​ He currently lives in Minneapolis as an employee for Wells Fargo.
